Porcine Rotavirus Vaccine

Modified Live Virus

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy nursing piglets against rotaviral diarrhea. This product was licensed prior to the requirement to establish a minimum age for use. Duration of immunity has not been established. DOSAGE AND ROUTE: Rehydrate freeze dried vial with 10-15 mLs of the enclosed diluent. Then transfer all liquid vaccine to the 50 mL plastic diluent vial to obtain 50 mL of rehydrated vaccine.

Gently agitate and give a 1 mL dose injected deep intramuscular and 1 mL dose sprayed to the back of the mouth (oropharynx) to piglets about 7-10 days pre-weaning. Do not return the piglets to the sow for at least 30 minutes after oral vaccination.

Store in the dark at 2 to 8°C (35 to 46°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Inactivate unused contents before disposal. This product has not been tested in pregnant animals. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Wash oral vaccine dispensers thoroughly with soap and water and rinse with clean water before addition of vaccine. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur following use. Antidote: Epinephrine. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. Contains gentamicin as a preservative.
