Oxilan Side Effects

General
General side effects including headache (3.6%), fever (1.7%), chills (0.6%), asthenia, chest and back pain, edema of the neck, facial edema, pain, and peripheral edema have been reported.[Ref]
Cardiovascular
Severe life-threatening cardiovascular reactions and fatalities have occurred. Most deaths occur during injection or 5 to 10 minutes later; the main feature being cardiac arrest with cardiovascular disease as the main aggravating factor.[Ref]
Common (1% to 10%): Angina pectoris (1.3%), hypertension (1.1%)
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Bradycardia, hypotension, atrial fibrillation, syncope, tachycardia, vasodilation, ventricular extrasystole[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Common (1% to 10%): Nausea (1.5%)
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Diarrhea, nausea with vomiting, constipation, dyspepsia, dysphagia, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, ileus[Ref]
Nervous system
Common (1% to 10%): Headache (3.6%)
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Dizziness, hypotonia, nystagmus, paresthesia, somnolence, vertigo, taste perversion[Ref]
Other
Common (1% to 10%): Fever (1.7%)
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Chills, asthenia, edema of the neck, facial edema, pain, peripheral edema[Ref]
Dermatologic
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Urticaria, rash, pruritus, sweating[Ref]
Endocrine
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Hypothyroidism or transient thyroid suppression[Ref]
Genitourinary
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Anuria, dysuria, hematuria, urinary tract infection, urination impairment[Ref]
Hepatic
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Liver failure[Ref]
Hypersensitivity
The reported incidence of adverse reactions to contrast agents in patients with a history of allergy is twice that of the general population. Patients with a history of previous reactions to a contrast agent are three times more susceptible than other patients. However, sensitivity to contrast agents does not appear to increase with repeated examinations.[Ref]
